Jen Seidel, an American artist, was born on December 24, 1968. The 51 year old previously attended Baltimore’s Von Lee School of Aesthetics, graduating in the year 1988.
Family Life:
Seidel was previously married to Aidan Walsh, known to many as “Papa Walsh”. Together, they had 3 kids. They have one son named Brandon, and two daughters, Claudia and Kennedy. The whole family has established their own individual social media platforms, particularly gaining popularity through their Youtube channels.
Career:
Seidel is most well known from her body painting business. Body painting is a form of art in which the artist applies paint to the body of a model or client in order to make it look like that individual is wearing real clothing. When asked when she began to take interest in the idea of body paint, Seidel couldn’t put her finger on a clear moment other than when she was in fourth grade and saw a classmate at the bus stop without socks on. She then thought to herself that it would be interesting to paint realistic looking socks on that kid. Later in life, she tried out the technique when she painted clothes on herself to try to win a contest for money. Although she did not win the contest, she did get attention from it and decided to stick with the unique art form. With help from her son, Brandon Walsh, and two of his friends, Seidel established a presence on social media, particularly on Youtube and Instagram. Through both of these accounts, both named Jen The Body Painter, she was able to gain publicity and now has thousands of fans and followers. Many videos have been uploaded that show the process of body painting, often helped by her daughter, Kennedy. There are other videos that feature these newly painted models in public for everyone to see and judge to see if they noticed that the clothes were painted on. Aside from the visually creative aspects of her career, Seidel also has a website. On this website, it features some of her projects, the first being a charitable effort and the second being her book.
