Rotoki "BABE" Kite Inventor Stanley E. Albertson Jr. received his U.S. patent on his incredible little flying machine on June 14, 1966. It is a light weight Styrofoam rotary wing style kite that is comprised of 2 semicircular Styrofoam tubes connected on both ends by dish shaped Styrofoam plates. The kite rotates around an Aluminum shaft and the bridle is connected to the ends of the Aluminum shaft by Nylon tubes. The kite achieves flight via the Savonius principle.
