Shashank Shekhar Jha (born 28 October 1993) is an Advocate by profession who practices at the Supreme Court of India. He is also a Social Worker and runs an NGO named Ummid Social Welfare Foundation.

Background and family

Shashank was born in Darbhanga, Bihar into a Maithil Brahmin family. His parents lives in Chhattisgarh. His father works in Indian Railways, whereas his mother is an LIC agent and a Social Worker. His grand-father Sh Bal Krishna Jha had served Indian Army and has been awarded for his services during Indo-China War. His maternal grand-father Sh Shyam Chandra Jha was a politician who holds a record of being the Mukhia of Habibhouar, Darbhanga for over 35 years. He had also unsuccessfully contested the elections for Bihar Vidhan Sabha.

Education

Shashank did his schooling from various schools in Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Bihar. Being an avid reader and debater, he took interest in Law and finished five-year BBA-LL.B(Hons.) program from The ICFAI University, Dehradun with Hons. in IPR. Having attended over 70 Debate competition, MUN, Youth Parliament in different parts of the country, he also established a debating society in his college.

During his college times, he formed an NGO named [./Https://ummidfoundation.com/ Ummid Social Welfare Foundation] through which he helps the society.

Thereafter, he did his LL.M from in Corporate Law from Uttarakhand Technical University.

Career

Shashank had undergone extensive internship during his college ranging from NGO, to various Law Offices in Delhi and Bihar.

After his enrollment with Delhi Bar Council, he joined the office of Advocate Pankaj Kumar, Advocate on Record, Supreme Court and later joined the office of Pankaj Vivek and Associates as an Associate and worked on all type of cases ranging from Civil to land matters and criminal.

Currently he is an associate at Kapoor and Associates and works independently as well. His majorly works in Supreme Court. His office is located in Panchsheel Enclave.
