Janco Associates Inc. is an international consulting organization that has a primary focus improving the infrastructure of the IT function with enterprises of all sizes. The firm was founded in 1998 by Mr. M. Victor Janulaitis a well know and respected pioneer in the Information technology arena. His primary claim to fame was creating the disaster recovery business continuity plan that was activated by Merrill Lynch on 9/11 when the twin towers were destroyed. When Merrill Lynch executed the plan on 9/11 only 53 seconds of transactions were lost and which were subsequently manually recovered. The plan itself took over 18 months to create and was in the process of being implemented when the event occurred. Duwayne Peterson, Vice Chairman of Merrill Lynch, was the champion and sponsor of the effort.
