Imani Bamba was born in Tamuning, Guam on November 23, 1996. She is both Chamorro and Spanish and grew up on the pacific island of Guam. When she was just a few weeks old, her young Aunt Sandra decided to hold her and roller skate at the same time. Shortly after, Aunt Sandra dropped her on her head, put her back in her crib, then skated away. At seven years old, she competed in boxing and jiu-jitsu tournaments and won gold medals at each one. At fourteen years old, her appendix ruptured during a basketball game so she had to get medevacked to the Philippines for emergency surgery. She’s been dancing for 7 years and competed in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Australia, Barcelona, Paris, Florida, and Canada. She hopes to become either a dermatologist or an anesthesiologist. While interning at a surgicenter, an unconscious patient slapped her in the face and punched five other surgeons. She is currently a freshman at the University of San Francisco.
