Hey Isobelpowell! I really enjoyed reading your edits to the Gum Wall page!

What I enjoyed:

  • The way thay you rearranged the article made it a lot easier to access. Now that the article is organized based on various topics, it will be easier for your audience to approach. - It seems kess cluttered
  • You also cleared a lot the language from the previous version. This helped make the article a lot more approachable as well.
  • The new sources that you added also helped freshen the article's content. - This definitely is pushing it into a good direction
    • This includes more context to existing controversies
  • The inclusion of the gumwall hashtag helped bring a "more modern feeling" to the article.

How to improve:

  • I would update the gallery with current day pictures. I would also add some older pictures of the wall as well. This would help provide more context to the history of the wall. Being able to see how the wall has progressed would be a strong visual for the viewers of the article.
  • I would also add some more recognition to the "recognition" page. Though you have some strong sources, I believe adding more would help solidify the importance this wall has to Seattle's culture.
    • Adding on to culture, I believe that you should add another tab titled "culture". This would help build on to the significance of the wall. You could also add this to the history section of the article as well.
  • I would also add a statistics tab/section to the article. This would include information about how many pieces of gum are stuck the wall everyday/month/year/etc.
  • You could also add a link that provides a google maps location to the wall. This would also make finding the wall more approachable for the viewers.
    • Or a street name/address.
  • For the controversy, I would reccommend adding photos to display to viewers the "no gum" signs. I would also add more context from more sources to help fully flesh out the section of the article.

Overall, I think that this is a very strong start! Very good work!
