To improve is to change; to be perfect is to keep changing - these are the words I try to live by best as I can.

On a personal level, I take a keen interest in philosophy, psychology (psychopathy in particular), the meaning of things, human perplexing irrationality and the biases that we seem unable to get rid of. One of the most fascinating things I wish to understand is the power of familiarity and how it impacts the way we see the world, often quite literally. We see what we expect to see, we find what we are looking to find. I find it most disappointing so many of us appear to be especially keen to find offense.

Professionally, I busy myself with IT, data ownership and rights, the rise of a surveillance economy and the dangers posed by the ubiquity and proliferation of personal data under corporate and governmental control. I believe such collection of data and the algorithmic analysis of it pose an enormous danger to free societies and are almost certain to lead to a data-enforced dystopian future; not by design, not by malice, but by default.

Wikipedia is my go-to online content from where I expand my knowledge and try to find all the nuances so direly missing from public discourse. I hope that one day my accomplishments in the area of personal liberty and sovereignty may warrant me having my own entry :)
