From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Baraldi C, Toti MP, Van Elslande E, Walter P, Gamberini MC. Phoenicians Preferred Red Pigments: Chemical Compositions of Make-Up Powders Found in Archaeological Sites from Sicily. Applied Spectroscopy. 2020;74(3):295-304. doi:10.1177/0003702819895313

This is a article I found via Google Scholar and for my sandbox I pulled a quote from it. I believe it will be very beneficial because it specifically explains the importance of Red Ochre within Phoenician society and funerary practices.

Karmous T., Ayed N., Fantar M.H., et al. “Analysis of Punic Natural Dyes: Purple Earth from Zembra and Cosmetic Make-Up from Carthage”. Dyes Hist. Archaeol. 1966. 14: 3–8.

With the quote I chose, this was cited alongside it, so to avoid possibly not citing it correctly, I chose to include it. This piece analyzed the importance of pigments in make-up, and in connection to the Baraldi et al. piece, it will help with understanding funerary practices.

You will be compiling your bibliography and creating an outline of the changes you will make in this sandbox.
