Nicholas Fraker is a senior Computer Science & Engineering Technology major with a minor in Japanese Culture Studies attending the University of Toledo. He has worked in the field of Information Technology for a total of eleven years, performing various duties in that time such as desktop administrator, network engineer, server administrator, website designer, software engineer, and technical support representative.
He was born in June of 1985 in Toledo, Ohio, and attended the Hebrew Academy of Toledo, a private primary school for Kindergarten as well as grades first through third and sixth. He was home schooled for grades fourth, fifth, and seventh through twelfth. During this time, he worked for the University of Toledo through a job shadowing program as a Student Desktop Technician, and attended classes as a post-secondary student. He also worked with the university's Foreign Language Department to develop their senior-level Japanese Language textbook as an independent study project.
He enrolled at the University of Toledo for the Fall semester of 2003. In his time there, he has performed various services for their Information Technology department, including:
- Development and deployment of a screen saver utility that gathers configuration information by parsing the code of an HTML document and replicating it on the screen.
- Administration of ePolicy Orchestrator servers, a service which actively searches for new viruses on machines independent of client interactions through use of McAfee AntiVirus.
- Administration of Windows Server Update Services servers.
- Administration of Symantec Ghost servers.
He is also an active member of Triangle Fraternity, a national engineering social fraternity, and has served as executive board secretary, communications chair, and member educator for his chapter, as well as worked as a facilitator for the national organization at the Herbet Scobie Leadership School.
His interests include Computers, Computer and video games, Anime, Cooking, Electronics, Music, History, Physics, and Cultural studies, among others.
