Several American automotive publications have criticized Honda's design choices in the ninth generation Civic. Car and Driver found that the ninth generation Civic's "electric power steering is very numb, providing less feedback than [the previous-generation Civic]."[1] In the same vain, Autoblog criticized the ninth generation Civic's electric power steering and soft suspension for making the ninth generation car less engaging to drive than the eighth generation car.[2] In spite of its relatively soft suspension, Consumer Reports noted that the ninth generation Civic has an uncomfortable ride, long braking distances, and a cheap-feeling interior.[3] Overall, the ninth generation Civic scored lower than its eighth generation counterpart in Consumer Reports' tests.
