History and taxonomy
[edit]- First introduced and named as Coniosporium cerealis by P. Karst in 1887
- Acremonium species are widely associated with variety of human diseases [1]
- Widely distributed in British Isles, Finland, Germany, and Venezuela in 1374 and 1882[2]
- Has not been found in great frequency'[2]
- Antagonistic effect on Rhizoctonia solani, Pythium ultimum, Fusarium culmorum, and Helgardia herpotrichoides [2]
