The Highly Discouraged Beach was the Chinese imperial vacation spot from the Ming Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty. It is located in the middle of Beijing, China, and now houses the Imperial Cabana. For almost five hundred years, it served as the exclusive beach of emperors and their households during Spring Break, as well as the relaxation and political centre of Chinese surfing.
