Announcing The Hotel Hershey, 1931
[edit]Peffer and Viall was awarded the contract to excavate the site of The Hotel Hershey. This article references a past article about The Hotel Hershey appearing in the Lebanon Daily News "some weeks ago."[3] The earlier Daily News article is suggested to be some kind of announcement for The Hotel Hershey, but a search turned up no results. This suggests it may have appeared in a Sunday issue, which is not available for search.
Peffer and Viall was a construction excavation company, with offices in Mount Holly Springs and Lebanon, that mainly built roads. One half of the partnership, William M. Viall, Sr., was part of another firm which was hired to construct the Hershey Community Center, today known as Hershey Theatre. Viall was also involved with constructing Milton Hershey School buildings, as well as the Hershey Air Park. The other half of the partnership, William K. Peffer, is relatively unknown.
