Vietnamese Rice Paper Salad (also known as bánh tráng trộn)is a popular street snack among locals and teenagers made with fresh ingredients. It can easily be found on most corners selling on food motorbikes on the streets. The main ingredient of the classic rice paper salad is rice paper which is cut into thin strips and then kept dry. Rice Paper Salad is a traditional dish created in Tay Ninh (a south-eastern city of Vietnam). Tay Ninh created more than 30 ways to eat rice paper.
Different regions of Vietnam alternate many versions of making the snack. Some uses whipped butter as a sauce, others use tamarind fruit. Rice paper can also be altered to different ways like cutting it to pieces and eat it like a salad or wrap the fillings inside and eat as a roll or even fry it up.
This snack is popular among teenagers because of how cheap it is, going as low as 10,000 VND which is (0.43 dollar).
