Queen Temitope Morenike Enitan-Ogunwusi born on March 27, 1982, is the wife of the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Babatunde Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, CFR. She is known for her philanthropic work and dedication to social causes. She is a princess, a public administrator with vast experience working in both the public and private sectors and other developmental communications and advocacy strategies, and a passionate humanitarian. She is the Deputy Convener for the Hopesalive Initiative (HAI) for Africa, a non-governmental organization (NGO) that provides amenities to underserved communities.

Ancestry

Queen Temitope Morenike Enitan-Ogunwusi was born a princess to the Adesegun Ibipe Royal Dynasty of Ago-Iwoye in Ijebu North Local Government Area, one of the royal families of Yoruba descent in Ogun State, Nigeria. Her father’s name is Adebayo Johnson Adesegun, and her mother’s name is Olabisi Iyabosola Adesegun. Queen Temitope is the third child in a family of six.

Early life

Queen Temitope Ogunwusi grew up in Nigeria and had a passion for humanitarian work from an early age. She was known for her kindness and compassion toward others. As a princess witnessing the challenges that many people in her community faced, particularly in terms of access to healthcare, education, and basic necessities like clean water and food, she had a great urge to help. Her eagerness to help spurred her on to assist in whatever way she can and eventually blossomed to creating impactful campaigns to provide some basic necessities to children in her community who couldn’t afford them. As she grew older, she became more involved in community service and was able to harness the power of collective action by partnering with some key persons in the society at different times to create an impact on the lives of people. Queen Temitope is a compassionate individual who is deeply committed to making a positive difference in the world. Her experiences as a humanitarian have taught her the value of empathy, collaboration, and resilience, and she strives to embody these qualities in everything she does. .^[1]

Education

Queen Temitope started her elementary education at Adedoja Memorial Nursery and Primary School, Ikorodu, Lagos State. She then proceeded to Goodwill Secondary School in Ikorodu, Lagos State, for her secondary school education, where she received her secondary school certificate (SSCE). Queen Temitope has a diploma in linguistics and data processing from the University of Lagos in 1998 and 2000, respectively. She holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the same university. She has her MSC in International Business and Management from the University of Central Lancashire, United Kingdom in view. The vibrant Queen is also a certified alumnus of the following renowned universities across the world: The University of Oxford, United Kingdom; INSEAD Business School, Fontainebleau, France; the University of Cambridge, Judge Business School, United Kingdom; and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, United States.

Career

After completing her education, Queen Temitope Ogunwusi worked in the corporate sector for several years while simultaneously dedicating her time to philanthropic causes. In 2009, during the Babatunde Fashola administration, Queen Temitope worked as the personal assistant to the late Secretary to the State Government, Lagos State, Princess Aderenle Adeniran-Ogunsanya, where she displayed true professionalism in managing the responsibilities of the executive. Queen Temitope has over 15 years of demonstrable experience as a public administrator at several levels. She also has experience with the media, as she was the anchor and host of the Lagos State Ministry of Health's public health advocacy program, ‘Health-Wise," which aired for four years. She is known for her exceptional presentation skills. Her passion for humanity has also earned her a spot as a leader in health and other developmental communications and advocacy strategies. With the Ooni, Queen Temitope set up an NGO, the Hopesalive Initiative for Africa, to provide amenities to underserved communities. Currently, she works as the Deputy Convener for the Hopesalive Initiative under the auspices and management of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, through the House of Oduduwa Foundation.

Marriage

Queen Temitope Ogunwusi is married to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II. She got married to Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi on October 24, 2022. She is the sixth wife of His Imperial Majesty.

Philantrophy

As the Deputy Convener of the Hopesalive Initiative for Africa ,Queen Temitope Ogunwusi is committed to empowering the less privileged individuals and underserved communities through education, skill acquisition programs, and the provision of sustainable developments. She has also been involved in several other charitable initiatives, partnering with organizations, donors, and volunteers to enable lasting change in decreasing poverty's effects on the most vulnerable in Nigerian and African communities, including providing aid to victims of natural disasters and supporting the elderly.

Projects

Under the Hopesalive Initiative for Africa, Queen Temitope Ogunwusi has launched several projects aimed at promoting education, skill acquisition, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development in communities. The Hopesalive Initiative for Africa has a number of programs designed to create value and alleviate the suffering of vulnerable communities in Nigeria and Africa at large. From community-building programs aimed at improving the local environment and building relationships among community members to family programs focused on providing resources to families and career programs helping individuals gain necessary skills to pursue a career, the Hopesalive Initiative for Africa assists underserved communities to become more independent and sustainable.

She has received several awards and honors, including the Transparency Africa Honours and Award by Transparency Africa and the Most Supportive in Youth Empowerment Award by the Office of the House of Akoraye, Ogunsua Palace.
