I am 44 years old and was diagnosed with breast cancer in Nov of ‘21. I Had lumpectomy in Jan 27, 2022. I Went through radiation treatment from May to July. I Also have other chronic diseases such as endometriosis, Lichens Sclerous, and Hashimotos thyroid disease.

Throughout my last year and a half researching breast cancer and endometriosis (this one researching for about 10years) I have I have learned that we desperately need to educate women on their own bodies, how to advocate for themselves and how to navigate this healthcare system that we here in the US.

It is a disgrace, that lack of attention that has been paid to women’s health. And then there is the The Women’s Health Iniative that was a complete disaster and set women’s health back 20yrs. Any women with or without breast cancer should be aware of the WHI.

I am not against doctor’s or nurses, I have the utmost respect for all that they have gone through. Most only want to help. But they are in the system and are limited. There are MANY amazing Doctors that are working hard and doing their best to help deal with this WOMEM’S HEALTH CRISIS.

I want to help and educate as many wome as I can so that they don’t have to suffer like I have for starting at 14yrs old, now more than half my life here on this earth.Doctors do not know how to handle autoimmune and chronic diseases because they were not taught how to. It’s unknown in the medical system how to deal with these diseases. There are many things pertaining to women’s health that DR’s to this day are not taught, one being Menopause, which I am now experiencing as part of my breast cancer treatment.

Dr’s are not taught about Menopause in medical school, or maybe they’ll spent a half a day or day on it. I was absolutely shocked when I learned this. There is so much that can be done to help women go through this time in their life and it does not have to be a dreaded thing.

The lack of Women’s health needs to change in this country and I will do everything I am capapable of to be a part of that change. Too many women are unneceresiaraly suffering and this needs to change.
