Soke Richard morris
The late Soke Richard Morris, 10th Dan trained and taught Martial Arts for more than 60 years and continues to be one of the most highly regarded martial artists in the World. His contribution to the World of Martial Arts, on a number of fronts, particularly modern professional Jiu Jitsu is probably unparalleled. The young Morris trained with Professor Alf Morgan, the first Briton to be trained by Japanese Jiu Jitsu Master Sensei Yoki Tani. On receiving his 4th Dan, Richard Morris set out to research a Jiu Jitsu style most suited to modern requirements, and in the process became chairnman of the British Jiu Jitsu Federation and Director of the World Jiu Jitsu Federation, until 1986 when he resigned from both posts to take up his position as head of Jiu Jitsu International.
Jiu Jitsu International was founded to develop a no nonsense Jiu Jitsu style. Today Jiu Jitsu International teaches and follows professional Japanese Jiu Jitsu. He was also the co-founder of the World Kobudo Federation.
