Since 1978, the Association of Computer-based Systems for Career Information (ACSCI), has been dedicated to the advancement of career information and its delivery. Today, the Association continues to work to promote the use and improvement of career information, information technology, and services through standards, professional development opportunities, and public information.

With the rapid expansion of the availability of career information and services, the need for well-documented, detailed industry standards of quality is more apparent than ever before. ACSCI standards provide a framework for organization and individual to reference in order to promote the delivery of the highest quality career information and services.

ACSCI provides leadership that strengthens national, state, and local systems in development, delivery, and utilization of computer-based information and related career development services by:

• Establishing, maintaining, and promoting standards for quality in the development, delivery, and utilization of computer-based career information and related career development services.

• Identifying, collecting, and disseminating a base of knowledge regarding the development, delivery, and utilization of computer-based career information and related career development services.

• Providing association members in-service training opportunities, technical assistance, and other professional services regarding the development, delivery, and utilization of computer-based career information and related career development services.

• Providing professionals, organizations, and agencies with information and assistance regarding utilization of computer-based career information and related career development services.

• Providing a public forum to discuss and promote the formation of public policy regarding quality in development, delivery, and utilization of computer-based career information and related career development services.
