User:HAL(Old)/FUIR-WARN-WIP

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

THE FOLLOWING TEMPLATES ARE CURRENTLY WORKS IN PROGRESS! HAL2008 and other editors are currently working on them, to submit them for review under WikiProject User Warnings, and potentially add them to the Wikipedia Warnings System. Feel free to comment about these on the talk page, or make improvements upon them.

AT THIS TIME: The templates are being called FUIR (fair use image removal) of which a notifier template exists here, but no formal warning system exists, and it is not part of the WikiProject warnings system. NOTE: All blocking notifications have been changed to "may be blocked" instead of "will be blocked", as I do not want to set anything in stone at this point, and must double-check the blocking policy, regarding FUIR policies.

DO NOT USE THESE WARNINGS AT THIS TIME! THEY ARE NOT YET READY FOR USE!

What are these for?

[edit]

These warnings are designed for non-fair use images, being used in a place where they are not considered fair use. Such as: User X adds the Star Trek logo to his userpage, that is not allowed under fair use, as the logo is copyrighted. The image would be removed, and one of the following templates (depending on the user's offense level) would be added.

In Regards to their Names:

[edit]

Each is assigned a name for the warning system. This will hopefully eventually be their name when they go into the warning system. im: Stands for Image Warning. This is when the warnings are eventually categorized further. fuir is the specific warning name. Fair use image removal, is what it stands for. 1, 2, 3, 4, and 4im are the warning levels. 4im means immediate, when the user is only given 1 chance, for whatever reason that may be.

The Templates

This level assumes good faith, and is kind to the user, as they probably are not familiar with the rule. Alright, we now have [[Template:im-fuir1], which is its page. So, long story short, the following are 3 examples of the template, with the three variables. {{subst:im-fuir1}}, {{subst:im-fuir1|Example}}, and {{subst:im-fuir1|Example|This is in regards to your edit... etc.}} respectively.

This is for serious violations. This is immediate, and is an only warning, assuming bad faith. It is a strong cease and desist.

This is the only warning you will receive for adding images that violate Wikipedia's fair use policy. If you add non fair-use images to Wikipedia again, you will be blocked from editing.
