Shipley College BTEC National Games Development
[edit]Shipley college games development course is two years long with goals to be able to become fairly fluent with "Adobe Flash" "3D Studio Max" "Adobe Photoshop" and other industry suitable programs. However a massive part of this course includes in-depth research about the games industry, preparing students for industry standards of quality, regardless of what students wish to do with their future, being university, straight into a job or back to college to complete another course, this course is perfect for those that wish to learn how the computer games industry works. At the end of year one my class was fluent with "Adobe Photoshop" creating 5 application icons for the "Apple iPhone" and also creating an interactive "Adobe Flash" mini-game. 2nd years primary objective was to get a greater understanding of the research needed to actually compile something worthy of being in the industry, after intense research covering subjects such as
- Political Correctness
- Age differences (likes and dislikes/whats suitable)
- Gender differences (what typically is preferred by who)
- Genre hot topics
- Hardware restrictions
- Software compatibility
