English native speaker? I don't think so!

[edit]

Fazit: miserables Englisch! Beispiele: "Whether female Landeshauptmänner are to be called Landeshauptfrau" und "he became mayor of his home municipality" - viele Übertragungsfehler (wether statt if; became statt was elected; municipality statt town), beide Male beinah Filserbrief-Englisch, also surely NOT English! Tokles 12:57, 8 November 2005 (UTC)

Way over the line

[edit]

Don't mind Tokles. This user must have gotten up on the wrong side of the bed and then proceeded to take his misery out on you. There's an admittedly fine line between constructive and other kinds of criticism, and this user crossed it by a mile and a half. At least!!! Check this one out Beland/Praisefor what I think is a really good guideline. I came across it by trying to get answers to questions I had. --Mmounties 16:11, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

I agree with Mmounties

[edit]

I think it's fair to say that Gryffindor is one of the best German-English translators we've got on the project. If somebody hadn't told me he came from Austria, I would not have been able to tell from his writing on Wikipedia. He certainly writes a lot better than some native speakers, and I think Mmounties is a good judge for that since she is perfectly fluent in both languages. JHMM13 (T | C) 20:31, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

Edit summaries

[edit]

Hi, I've noticed you are not leaving edit summaries. Please get into the habit of doing so, as it helps others to know what changes you have made to an article. Not calling you one, but vandals sometimes think that by not leaving an edit summary their edits won't attract scrutiny. In fact, the opposite happens. You can set your preferences to remind you to leave an edit summary at My preferences > Editing > then ticking the box marked "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Yes, please do consider using edit summaries. It saves time for other editors. Eric talk 22:09, 9 August 2016 (UTC)
