To do

[edit]

The focus for this article is on corporate entities, and relationships between these entities.

Move "Government opinions of Scientology" over to merge into the Scientology status by country

Remove "Celebrities" section. See if anything needs to go to Scientology#Promotional material, at least temporarily

Section "Classification" belong in Scientology#Definition and classification , maybe

"Beliefs" shouldn't be in this article. Maybe in Scientology (briefly) and definitely in Scientology beliefs and practices. But it doesn't belong in this article.

Add a section for "Class V orgs" and "Advanced orgs", and put in order: Class V, Ideal, Advanced, Freewinds. Add something about Dianetics centers or those book store thingies which are recruit outposts to Scientology Class V orgs. Maybe these should show up in the table of contents?

Need something under "Dissemination organizations" about how these "social outreach" programs are intended as recruiting tools for new Scientologists. Saw a source recently about these being "to prepare the world for a scientology world".

Add a paragraph about member / staff / sea org rankings as it relates to the organizations. Link to List of Scientology officials (aka Scientology officials, Scientology staff).

I think "Membership statistics" and "Finances" and "Legal waivers" can stay in this article.

Not sure about some of the Controversies section. I think "recruiting" is an organizational matter. Dissemination is related to publishing and member growth. Illegal activities should be tied together with Scientology and law (which probably needs splitting into sections for government cases against Scientology cases against Scientology, versus civil litigation COS-to-other and other-to-COS).

"The Scientology world is much larger than merely the 'Church' of Scientology. It is a labyrinth of corporate shells that, like a hall of mirrors, was designed to baffle all but the initiated." Robert Vaughn Young [1]: 130

"The corporations of scientology are a carefully contrived sham and shell structure intended to confuse and divert litigants, the courts and the I.R.S." Vicki Aznaran, former president and chairmand of the board of directors of RTC [1]: 130

Check "The Command Channels of Scientology" and "The Corporations of Scientology" for content.

Rewrite lead. Pay attention to recent reintroduction of 2 paras of duplicate material. [5]

Gerd Knuth (producer); Rainer Fromm (director) (2009). Scientology : The Science of Truth or the Art of Deception? (DVD). Dreamscape Media. Event occurs at 40:00. Michael Pattinson said: It is very, very dangerous. It is the bait on the hook. The Applied Scholastics is the bait you put onto the hook and you give to the children. And they say "oh, this bait is delicious. This is very nice." And then HOOK! Now you've become a scientologist, right? Ja.

In 1988, Applied Scholastics sent out public service announcements to media touting Study Technology as "a solution to adult and child illiteracy". blah blah more more [3]

Go thru rest of criticism section paragraphs. Compare with the Study Tech article. How related are these two articles (one is a subject, one is an organization)? Check this ref:[4]

See if there are more schools that should be in see-also or weave into prose, or make a list, or use a mini navbar for APS-only. Hmm... navbar. Clearwater Academy. Category:Scientology-related schools

Check list of schools and CoS-owned APS-related organizations on talk page.

Go thru "Further reading" list. See which ones reference Heron Books, Delphi, APS, Study Tech. See if they can be incorporated in any of the articles. After that, trim the list down to something reasonable.

Check Gale archives for articles on "Applied Scholastics" or ABLE.

Notes for Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of dirt track ovals in the United States

AFD WP:LISTN fails been discussed as a group or set by independent reliable sources WP:CRUFT WP:NOTDIRECTORY WP:EXTLINKS

Data gotten from other directories, not reliable sources, not independent (of the subject), not

There are no reliable sources as such because any 'citations' mentioned are actually home pages of the website of Track XYZ. It seems like the criteria for entry for each list is (a) "I know it's a track of type X", and occasionally (b) it has its own website. This is the definition of a DIRECTORY.

There are three 'citations' which appear to be simply data repositories/directories: speedwaysonline.com dirtfan.com thethirdturn.com (which seems user editable)

There are no citations from independent non-primary sources. Although WP:SELFSOURCE might have applied for individual lines/entries of these lists, the policy also requires so long as the following criteria are met: ... the Wikipedia article is not based primarily on such sources, and since the only citations are of this sort, well...

List above is likely incomplete. The more links (for lists) that I clicked on, the more of the same uncited directories I found.

reliable, independent, published sources with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy

Steps
  1. Remove entries with no bluelink, no citation, not even external link to primary sources or self-published websites, and isn't on the list of any generalized citation/extlink that might exist in the article.
  2. If article is too long, do just a chunk of it.
  3. If remains any extlinks, tag violation extlinks
  4. If remains any cite-less bluelinks, tag need citations
  5. Wait 1 week or more. Reassess steps.
  6. If at any point it is hopeless, turn into a redirect.
