Bookrun adds links to Internet Archive books and other media.

Usage[edit]

  1. To run, edit this page and change STOP to {page=<page name>} where "<page name>" is the name of the page to process.
Example: BOT={page=Charlie Chaplin}
Optional parameters:
  • parseengine - Parse plain-text citations to {{cite book}}
  • |parseengine=none (Default)
  • |parseengine=grobid
  • |parseengine=anystyle
  • linkengine - Link Internet Archive books
  • |linkengine=lamp (Default)
  • |linkengine=none
  • render - Output options
  • |render=all (Default)
  • |render=iapositive - show cites with an archive.org link
  • |render=ianegative - show cites w/out an archive.org link

Example 1: BOT={page=Charlie Chaplin |parsengine=grobid |linkengine=none}
Add {{cite book}} templates but not book links.
Example 2: BOT={page=Charlie Chaplin |parsengine=none |linkengine=lamp}
Add book links but not {{cite book}} templates.
Example 3: BOT={page=Charlie Chaplin |parsengine=grobid |linkengine=lamp}
Add {{cite book}} templates and book links.

Info[edit]

  1. The bot monitors this page every 2 minutes.
  2. When a {page=<page name>} is detected, the bot edits that page.
  3. When finished, the bot resets this page back to STOP.

System info[edit]

  • The requester's username is included in edit the summary; the edit is made by User:InternetArchiveBot.
  • Once the bot is running it can not stop, such as by setting BOT=STOP.
  • If it seems like the bot is stuck in BOT={page=...} contact User:GreenC
  • If the page is edited to anything other than BOT=STOP or BOT={page=} (vandalism or mistake) the bot resets the page back to BOT=STOP.
  • It checks citations in {{Cite book}}, {{Cite news}} and {{Cite journal}} formats.
