The Basin & Reservoir Lab is a dedicated facility for petroleum geoscience research and training within the Department of Earth Sciences (Life Sciences Centre) at Dalhousie University.

Led by Professor Grant Wach, the Basin & Reservoir Lab serves as a research facility for undergraduate & graduate students, post-docs and visiting scientists from the petroleum industry, government and other academic institutions.

The vision of the Basin & Reservoir Lab is to establish Dalhousie as the beacon for petroleum geoscience research in the Maritimes attracting undergraduate & graduate students and post-doctoral associates for education and training in petroleum geoscience. The research will have translation benefits to the offshore oil and gas sector through new insights developed from study of the offshore Nova Scotia petroleum system.
