InterCon was a convention for Star Trek and Science Fiction fans and collectors. InterCon is a syllabic abbreviation for "Intermountain Convention". The event was held August 13-14, 1976 at the Tri-Arc Travelodge in Salt Lake City, Utah.[1] It was chaired by Julia Howarth, Susan Dastrup, Nerissa Wilhite, and Davie Wilhite. The guests were Alan Dean Foster, Jerry Pournelle, Bill Blake, Kathie Browne (Darren McGavin's wife), Darren McGavin, Grace Lee Whitney, Bob Wilkins, Bjo Trimble and her husband John Trimble. The program was edited and published by Brad Boyle and Mick Worthen, with cover art by Tim Johnson.[2] Content included summaries of films shown, by Brad Boyle, and three fiction stories: "Star Trek: TOS, "The Stiff Affair" by Don Winner, "Dolomai Beast" by Gary Philips, and "Kolchak: The Night Stalker, The Cannibals" by Susan Dastrup. InterCon featured a film program that included the first science fiction film A Trip to the Moon and other classics. Other events included a question and answer session with celebrity guests, a costume party, a Star Trek themed play In Memorium [1], and a costume contest. A favorite attraction was a display of the original costumes from Logan's Run (film).
