John McConnachie (born 25 October 1884) was a professional footballer who started in Scotland with Maryhill, and then played for both Celtic and then Rangers. He was reported to be a "boy wonder" when he joined Tottenham Hotspur in London.[1] Although this was considered an inflated reputation and only stayed at Spurs for one season before joining Southampton.[1] He had a spell with Leyton Orient before returning to the South coast club where it is thought he finished his career.
Career
[edit]McConnachie joined Tottenham in 1903 but only managed a handful of games for the club before being released at the end of the season. His debut for Spurs was a Southern League game against Brentford.[1] This occurred on 14 September 1903 and the result of the game was 0–0 draw.[2]
