Robert Čoban coowner (50%) of a Serbian media company Color Press Group currently publishes 84 periodicals, including its centerpiece publication - weekly tabloid Svet and health lifestyle magazine Lepota i zdravlje. Color Press Group with assets in Serbia, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Macedonia, as well as over 2 million copies of its various publications sold each month and an annual revenue stream of over 20 million, it is among the biggest media companies in South-Eastern Europe.[1]

Early life

Robert Čoban was born on July 27, 1968 in Bač, Vojvodina, Serbia. His parents are Lujza Čoban (b, 1941, nee Tot, housewife) and Josip Čoban (1932, farmer). He has a sister, Lidija Ćulibrk (1963), nee Čoban, clinical psychologist, editor-in-chief of the magazine “Lepota i zdravlje”.

Čoban received his primary school education at "Vuk Karadžić", Bač, and secondary school education at Secondary school for economics “Dr. Radivoje Uvalić”, Bačka Palanka. He attended the Faculty of Law, Novi Sad, entering the University in 1988, and became a senior undergraduate in 1993.

He is married to his wife Sandra (1975) and has two daughters, Elena (2004) and India (2006).

Professional career

Worked as a correspondent from Novi Sad for the Belgrade newspaper “Večernje novosti”, Zagreb newspaper “Arena” and Sarajevo newspaper “Naši dani” (1990-1991). Editor-in-chief of the student magazine “Index” and of the independent magazine “Nezavisni index” (1992). Editor-in-chief of the magazine “Svet”, from 1993 to 2005. Today President of the company “Color Press Group”, the biggest publishing house in all ex-Yugoslavia, with 78 editions (Svet, Lepota i zdravlje, CKM, Bravo, JOY, Auto Start, Metal Hammer, TV Novele, Alan Ford, PC Magazin, Bratz, Girl Talk...), over 300 employees and branch
