Mrinal Talukdar is a Senior Journalist & Writer based in Assam, India. He has also authored quite a good number of books on Contemporary modern history of Assam and has also documented a few award winning video documentary. He is presently working as senior video Journalist with Assamesse News Channel Pratidin Time. He is a founding member of Nanda Talukdar Foundation, an NGO working on human rights and preservation of knowledge and digitalization of old books in Assam.
BIOGRAPHY
[edit]Mrinal Talukdar is born to eminent litterateur Late Nanda Talukdar at Guwahati and completed his schooling from Cotton Collegiate, Cotton Collage and graduating from Arjya Vidyapeeth and began his career in The sentinel is 1989 as Sub Editor. Later , he worked under with Meghalaya Guardian, North east Times and finally into Assam Tribune as Staff Reporter in 1992.He got involved with united News of India (UNI) and joined its Guwahati bureau as Principal Correspondent. He was elevated to Chief of bureau of North east Region and finally moved to Patna to head Bihar Region. He left UNI after a few years to pursue his carrier in Television and writing. He has previously worked with DY365 and now working with PRATIDIN TIMES[1]

[edit]He is very famous for a few books on contemporary Modern history involving Assam in English Language , notable amongst them are:
- "1962", based on Indo-China war of 1962[2]
- "Secret killing of Assam"- Based of ULFA insurgency, Co-Authored with Mr.Kaushik Deka.
- "The Game called NRC"- Based on NRC implementation in Assam[3]
- "Post Colonial Assam(1947-2019)"- The book has been selected by US Library of Congress in Washington[4][5]
- "Mandalay(a Book by Mrinal Talukdar)"- Book on Rhino Horn Trade of Asian Rhino in Assamesse Language.[6]
- "Mautam(a Book By Mrinal Talukdar)" - Book on insurgency in North East India in Assamesse Language.[7]
He has also authored a few Assamesse Books. He is also passionate about travelling , Adventure writing , Farming ,Tea Plantation and Teaching and known for issues pertaining to North East India . He has been credited with a few award winning documentaries including one on Majuli, world's largest river Island

tags on this page without content in them (see the help page).. He has also completed the ASEAN motor rally 2018 from Guwahati to Bangkok and commentary was broadcasted in Pratidin Time. He is also credited to highlight a old forgotten road from Assam India to China which was known to Mughals and later rediscovered by British in the 19th Century. A documentary called " Road to China ", is based on it which starts from Tinsukia in Assam and transverses a distance of 300Km before reaching Kaho, Arunachal Pradesh , the last village near Line of Actual Control.[8]
Awards
[edit]He has won the 11th Exchange4media News Broadcasting Award(ENBA 2018 Indian Broadcast award) for the primetime show "Bislekhan" which is being broadcasted in Pratidin Time , a category highest award for his reporting on National Registers of Citizens. This is amongst the most prestigious Broadcasting award dominated by biggies like NDTV , INDIA TODAY , ZEE and BBC[9]
