Category:Illinois sport stubs

  1. I chose the sports stub, specifically for Illinois sports. I chose this stubs because I've lived in Illinois for my whole life and I have pride in our sports teams we have here. After selecting this stub I went to the 2018 Chicago Marathon.
  2. I know that its a stub because it was on the stubs list and on the bottom of the page its referenced as a stub and you're given the option to expand it.
  3. Somethings that are missing from this stub is a history about the Chicago Marathon. Other pages on marathons have a brief history about the races and how to qualify for them. Also there is only 3 references on the page. For it to be so little information on the page to begin with that would seem like it was efficient, but more references definitely are needed.
  4. In the references section, the three links are active and still work. The references only talk about the male winner of the 2018 marathon and nothing about the actual marathon itself.
  5. The only sections that are present are the results and a very small summary. Sections like qualifying, history, the actual race itself, and the course, are missing, which is something other pages about marathons had.

The FBI Academy is the Federal Bureau of Investigation's law enforcement training and research center located near the town of Quantico in Stafford County, Virginia. Operated by the Bureau's Training Division, it was first opened for use in 1972[2] on 385 acres (156 ha) of woodland,[3] which is not available for public tours.

In addition to training new FBI agents at the facility, the Training Division also instructs special agents, intelligence analysts, law enforcement officers, Drug Enforcement Administration agents, and foreign partners.[4] The Academy provides several training programs, including Firearms, Hogan's Alley (a training complex simulating a small town),[5] Tactical and Emergency Vehicle Operations Center (TEVOC), Survival Skills, and Law Enforcement Executive Development.[4]

The academy occupies 547 acres within Marine Corps Base Quantico.[6]

Training Facilities

[edit]

Elite units such as the Hostage Rescue Team (HRT), Evidence Response Teams (ERT), Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), and about 1,000 police leaders from across the world attend the FBI Academy and utilize its training facilities to improve on skills. A newer feature to the Academy's facilities is newly renovated 20,000 sq-ft aquatic training center with a high tech filtration system and digital communications between water/chemical balance, that are 90% more effective.

Aquatic classes are used to boost cardio-respiratory endurance, muscular strength, flexibility, power and speed. While new agent trainees utilize the facility to receive CPR and lifesaving skills, larger units such as HRT officers receive over 450 hours of training that include advanced scuba diving, nighttime diving, rescue diving, and rescue swimming in the facilities. The FBI and DEA trainees also have classes that are focused on physical conditioning, basic water survival skills, and team work. [1]
