David Defreest House
[edit]The David DeFreest House is a historic house at 27 Jordan Road in Defreestville, a hamlet of North Greenbush, New York. The house was erected some time between 1767 and 1771 and is part of the DeFreest Homestead.

The original brick house was built around 1767, constructed of European brick used as ballast in Dutch fur trading ships that sailed up the Hudson. Between 1630 and 1850, Dutch barns dominated the landscape in the Hudson Valley. They were distinguished by their H-shaped structural frame.
A clapboard addition was added around 1710 for David's oldest Daughter
, 50-foot beams of hemlock more than a hundred years old when hewn, and wood re-used from earlier structures on the site.[3]
The house and the neigboring sister house loacted in what is now the Rensselaer Technology Park were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.[]
