Joseph Peter David O'Shaughnessy (born 5 January 2003) is a professional footballer who plays college soccer for Florida Southern Moccasins as a goalkeeper.
Born in England, he is a Republic of Ireland youth international.
Club career
[edit]Born in Warrington,[1] O'Shaughnessy spent his early career with Wrexham, Burnley and Wolverhampton Wanderers.[2][3] He turned professional with Wolves in February 2000.[4] After a spell in non-league with Hednesford Town,[5] moved on loan to Bradford City in August 2022.[6][7][8] He was recalled from his loan in January 2023, and released by Wolves.[9]
After an unsuccessful trial with Ipswich Town,[10] he signed for non-league Macclesfield in February 2023.[11][12] After a loan spell at Stalybridge Celtic,[13][14] he signed for Leek Town in the summer of 2023,[15][16] before moving to Atherton Collieries in December 2023.[17][18][19] He left the club in January 2024 to move to the United States,[20] playing college soccer for the Florida Southern Moccasins.[21]
International career
[edit]O'Shaughnessy trained with England at under-14 and under-15 levels,[2][22] before becoming a Republic of Ireland youth international.[6]
