About me

[edit]

I am a Running Start student from Marysville Getchell High School. I am currently a senior, so I'll graduate at the end of this school year. I played both football and baseball during my time at Getchell. I played running back for football and second base/shortstop for baseball. The shortstop has priority over all of the infield and is the main communicator on the defense. [1] I've played both sports for the last 12 years of my life, but unfortunately this year I broke my leg during our third game of the football season. That led to me missing the rest of football and not being able to play baseball. Although my playing career is over, I would love to still be part of either sport. My dream is to find a career in scouting or player analysis.

My Wikipedia interests

[edit]

Although I've used Wikipedia my whole life, I have never edited/improved a page before. Since I am learning how to do that now, maybe in the future I'll add some things to specific sports pages I'm learning about. I hope to learn and share my information with others.

Article Evaluation

[edit]

Space exploration has always captivated my imagination. I visited the Hubble Space Telescope article on Wikipedia and found three aspects of it worth commenting on; comprehensive coverage, the reliability of its sources, and the need for updated information.

Comprehensive Coverage

[edit]

During my research on the Hubble Space Telescope article, I noticed that it includes a detailed overview of the telescope's history, scientific successes, and enormous influence on our understanding of the universe. It delves into particular technical details, documents the incredible discoveries made possible by Hubble, and discusses the numerous repairs and upgrades made to it throughout time. This in-depth treatment of the subject gives readers a thorough knowledge of the telescope's significance and long-term contributions to the field of astronomy.

Reliability of Sources

[edit]

The thorough use of citations and references to support the offered material is a significant feature of the essay. Each key assertion or fact is supported by credible sources, such as scientific journals, NASA papers, and credible news pieces. This rigorous method assures that the information offered in the article is reliable and accurate. However, I discovered a few dead links among the citations following a closer inspection. When I clicked on these links, I was taken to error pages or sites with different information, indicating that the sources may no longer be available. To preserve the article's integrity, replacing these defunct links with current ones would be useful.

Need for Updated Information

[edit]

Although the page gives a thorough description of the Hubble Space Telescope's prior accomplishments, it seems to be weak in current information. The article's most recent revisions are from a few years ago, and it would be useful to incorporate more recent advances given how rapidly science and space exploration are developing. It would improve the article's relevancy and guarantee its correctness in depicting the current status of the Hubble Space Telescope if it included information about recent observations, discoveries, and key milestones.

Conclusion

[edit]

I'd give this Hubble Space Telescope article an "alright" overall rating. It provides a thorough account of the telescope's development and accomplishments, similar to a chronology of its significant contributions to astronomy. The information offered gains credibility when it is supported by credible sources and citations. However, the content in the article needs to be updated to reflect recent events. The article would give readers a more precise and up-to-date knowledge of the Hubble Space Telescope's continuous contributions to the field of astronomy by including more recent data.
