Visitation

At Dooly State Prison visitation days are Saturdays, Sundays, and state holidays. Hours for visitation are 9AM-3PM.

Once an inmate is in its permanent facility, they will be allowed to make a visitors list of immediate family members. Immediate family members include mother, father, brother sister, children of the inmate, grandparents, and grandchildren. If visitor is not an immediate family member, the inmate will need to complete a form explaining the significance of the relationship. The visitors list can only be modified during the months of May and November so it is important for the inmate to complete both immediate and non immediate persons list accurately. All minors are to be accompanied by a parent or guardian during visitation. If someone is traveling from a different state or on a one time only basis they would considered a "special visit". These type of visits would have to be approved by the warden at least 48 hours in advanced. People who qualify for special visit are military personnel visiting on leave, someone with a disability that requires someone else to drive them to facility, and of course anyone driving long-distance.

With that being said be sure to scheduled and confirm an appointment prior to your visit. If you are 16 years of age or older you will need your I.D. such as your driver license or passport. Only other acceptable items allowed during the visitation period are a single car key, and up to 20 dollars in coins. All other items such as cell phones and cameras are not permitted.

Arrive at facility 30 min before scheduled visit time for parking and processing procedures. Visitation guard will make sure all visitors have signed log when entering and leaving facility. For the visitation inmate and visitor are separated by partition or clear window. Dress code for all visitors are long sleeve shirts with no writings or drawings, no gym wear, if sandals are worn there must be straps on the back, basic colors such as white or gray are best.

WOW SO MUCH CONTENT!! THIS WAS INFORMATIVE AND DETAILED. I WAS NOT AWARE OF VISITATION PROCEDURES AT PRISONS UNTIL READING THIS, SO THANK YOU. WHERE WERE YOU ABLE TO FIND ALL OF THIS? IT WAS DIFFICULT ENOUGH FOR ME TO FIND SOURCES REGARDING CONSPIRACIES AT DOOLY STATE PRISON. GREAT JOB!!
