From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Aamer v. Obama is a habeas corpus appeal filed by three individuals held in extrajudicial detention in the United States' Guantanamo detention camps, in Cuba, against the Barack Obama Presidency.[1] The three individuals filing the appeal were Shaker Aamer, Nabil Hadjarab and Ahmed Belbacha.[2][3] They were protesting the camp administration's practice of force-feeding individuals refusing food, which they described as cruel, and not honoring their inherent right to make informed choices about their health care.

On February 11, 2014, a split ruling was published froma three judge panel of the DC Circuit Court of Appeals.[1] David S. Tatel wrote the ruling, and Thomas B. Griffith concurred. Stephen F. Williams opposed the ruling.
