Gene Dial received his BA in Information Science in 1969 and MS in Applied Physics in 1971, both from the University of California at San Diego. He has 40 years experience designing machine vision systems and analyzing aerospace systems and has published over 30 professional articles. He is now the Cheif Scientist at GeoEye, the worlds largest provider of satellite imagery. Current interests are photogrammetry of satellite imagery and developing a handbook, and possible Wikipedia article, on applications of quaternions for coordinate system rotations.
