I am a professional theatrical Stage Manager, Artist and Web Designer located in Washington State. I was born in Eastern Washington, moved to Seattle in 2005 and moved back to the east side of the state five years later. I've been married since 2008 and have one child.
I have a BA in Theatrical Design and Technology. The emphasis of my studies was Stage Management. I minored in Communication, where I studied copy editing and journalistic writing, however the Communication Department wanted me to be a news reader. I speak conversational Japanese and Spanish, which I studied in school. Currently I am trying to also learn German and French for my work in the theater.
From 2006-2009 I was the Stage Manager in residence at the Edmonds Center for the Arts, a medium-sized roadhouse in Edmonds, WA. I was the first Stage Manager hired after the theater's renovation and re-opening (2005-2007.) Prior to that, I worked as a freelance Stage Manager in Seattle. I have Stage Managed and/or ASM'd for the following companies: Seattle Opera, The Capitol Hill Arts Center, The Theater Off Jackson, the "Shakespeare on the Troll" Series and Mae West Fest IX. For several months I served as Co-Production Manager and Stage Manager for a live adaptation of Radio8Ball under the artistic direction of Andras Jones. In 2008 I became a substitute backstage manager for Teatro ZinZanni- Seattle.
To a lesser degree, I also work as a stage technician through a non-IATSE stage labor company. Our venues include the WaMu Theater and Quest Field in Seattle as well as Live Nation'sWhite River Amphitheatre in Auburn, WA. In 2007 I started freelancing as a Web Designer. Currently I am a freelance Web and Graphic Designer.
I am seriously bogged down at the moment, as I'm juggling four jobs in this down economy. Any free time I have beyond that I am devoting to some wiki-projects I am interested in. Be advised that it can sometimes take me days to respond to an inquiry or participate in a discussion. This will remedy itself eventually. Right now there are not enough hours in the day to finish everything I would like to.
