Narelle Szuveges (born 1978 in Melbourne) is an Australian chess Woman International Master who represented Australia at the 1998 Chess Olympiad in Elista.

Life

Narelle's older brother Grant has been a FIDE Master since 2000. Narelle is a successful competition Contract bridge player.

Chess career

In 1993, Szuveges jointly won the Australian Junior Girls' Chess Championship. In 1998 she represented Australia at the 33rd Chess Olympiad in Elista on the first reserve board, scoring 3 points from 7 games.[1] She won the Australian Women's Chess Championship in Melbourne in 2002.[2] She was awarded the title of Woman International Master (WIM) based on her result at the Oceania Zonal Tournament in Auckland in February 2005, where she finished equal third.[3] In 2007 she won the Australian "Myer Tan" Women's Grand Prix.
