About Me

[edit]

I'm a student who made a Wikipedia account for a college class. I'm very interested in art (Mostly drawing and digital art), and enjoy spending time drawing and appreciating art. I really interested in Japanese style drawing and animation, most commonly found in anime [1]TV shows. Did you know that the first anime film was released in 1917? I like how anime is frame by frame drawings and sketches, to make smooth scenes and effects to create a story. I'm also interested in videogames, mostly competitive first person shooter games, and some role playing and story based games. I love gaming so much I want to be a full time streamer/content creator and social media digital creator on platforms such as Twitch, YouTube, and Instagram. That's the only thing I picture myself enjoying for a future job and career, I am ambitious and set on making it to my goal someday so I can provide entertainment to others but also live comfortably for myself at the same time.

My Wikipedia Interests

[edit]

As a new Wikipedia user and editor, I hope to be able to participate in articles and edit article based off of what my interests are, such as art, videogames, streaming, and social media. I am very interested in these topics and have a very good idea on how they work and how they impact society.

Article Evaluation

[edit]

Introduction

[edit]

I have been drawing and interested in art most of my life, as artistic ability has been passed down through our family for generations. Although there have been times in my life where I did not practice my artistic ability, or have had to regain my skills. I've always liked the idea and creativity behind drawing, and drawing supplies. There has been one drawing product that I have been liking for some time now, and that is the "Sakura Micro Pen" so I visited the "Sakura Color Products Corporation" article on Wikipedia, and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: Its citations not being current, some viewpoints being underrepresented, and some important information being left out.

Citations

[edit]

There are a total of 7 citations on the "Sakura Color Products Corporation" all being valuable sources. But there is some citations that are not as current as they could be. One example of a citation that could be updated to a more current time, was the citation referring to a review of there product the micro pen. with the title of "Sakura Pigma Micron review by Alan Lee, January 2016". This leads to a review by a artist named Alan Lee. This review was made on the micro pen back in 2016. The reason I think this could be be updated is that the have came out with other products since then and they could update this review or add more reviews closer to todays date to show information on the new product's and old ones.

Viewpoints

[edit]

In this article there about 4 sections of information including the history of the company, products, art contests, and the references. But I feel as though the product section is leaving out a lot of information and unrepresenting there products as they only have a table to show the lists of the products that they sell. This really confused me as I read because they don't even say the names of the pens they sell. They use very broad terms such as "mechanical pencils" and "colored pencils".

Structure/Completeness

[edit]

This article told us a lot about the history of the corporation, but I feel as though they are leaving out a big chunk of why they are even a popular product. And that is there outline pens and pen brushes. They didn't even mention the names or color selection of there best selling product. I think they could add information of the pens and style of them, or even how to use them correctly or at least show examples of how each pen turns out on paper. They also left out a pretty big detail of how there product is so popular. And that is social media. TikTok and Instagram have had a huge impact on there product constantly being promoted through artists on those platforms, and they could have added that in there article.

Conclusion

[edit]

All in all this article defiantly needs some fixing if they want people to know more about there product on the Wikipedia page. There was a lack of sources and citations as well as there product information. I will say though, there micro pens are a very valuable and trustworthy art material. I just wish they would have added information on there article to show and support that statement. instead of personal opinions.
