- Working with families on supervised contact using trauma informed play
- The legal system and the child protection system
- Attachment theory and trauma based parenting support
- Advocacy support whilst navigating the child protection system
- Trauma informed therapeutic support for parents navigating the child protection system
The program is funded by a grant received from Mary MacKillop Today.
Let's Talk
[edit]Let's Talk is in the planning stage. It will a fortnightly opportunity for families to come together in a supportive network to discuss the difficulties of navigating the child protection system. The system can be very isolating for parents, specifically mothers who have had their children removed due to being deemed an unprotective parent causing emotional abuse to her children for not leaving the violent partner/father of children. This will provide an opportunity for women to see that they are not alone whilst seeking support in navigating the child protection system. The group will run twice a month in the Elizabeth and in the central business district of Adelaide for two hours involving an opportunity to support and learn over a coffee.
