Michael J. Curtis
[edit]Michael J. Curtis (born 1956) is an American historian, sculptor, and poet, best known for his defense of classical tradition in the arts. Curtis was Research Scholar, National Civic Art Society, and since 2022 has been Artist-In-Residence, Common Sense Society[1].
Career

Works in literature include The Classical Architecture and Monuments of Washington, D.C.: A History and Guide and Modern Art: An Exhibition in Criticism, a satire in verse.
Notable works in statuary include General Eisenhower, Alexandria, Virginia, Justice Thurgood Marshall, Washington, D.C.[2], The History of Texas, Arlington, Texas. His medal designs include The Sir Roger Scruton Prize, the Truman-Reagan Medal of Freedom for the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation, and The John Marshall Medal in Law.
A proponent of traditional, American domestic architecture, Curtis designed The New American Home 2011[3] for the National Association of Home Builders, and he writes and lectures on architecture, the allied arts, and related cultural issues.
