Rav Yissacher Meir was Rosh Yeshiva in Yeshiva Hanegev in Netivot. Rav Yissacher was born in Lemberg, Ukraine in 1927. He was one of the first students of the Ponevhezer Rav, Harav Yosef Shlomo Kahaneman.

As a young man he was a Rosh Yeshiva in Morocco. Eventually, he settled in Netivot, and literally transformed the desert into a bustling Makom Torah. The Rosh Yeshiva never merited Children, but would often say that he had thousands of children, referring to his students. He died on a Sunday, January 12 after a severe battle against Pneumonia. His funeral was attende by tens of thousands of people paying tribute to their beloved Rosh Yeshiva.
