    • Note: Self-published comprehensive paperback exhibition catalogue for an exhibition which toured at the Australian Museum (Sydney) between 24 November 2012 and 28 April 2013, with the collection of 400 objects that were displayed that were from the State Hermitage Museum (St Petersburg). It was about the myths, legends, campaign and Hellenistic influence of Alexander the Great through an exploration of artefacts from Alexander's time to the present day from throughout the areas he conquered, and both of Western and non-Western origins. Lots of contextual information and essays, along with the catalogue on the exhibition's objects itself.

It also has some information about other Egyptian mummies elsewhere in Australia.

    • Note: Self-published (by the Queensland Museum; a previous edition was published by the British Museum in 2011) paperback exhibition catalogue for an exhibition that toured at the Queensland Museum (Brisbane) between 19 April 2012 and 21 October 2012. It was organised by the British Museum (London), with the catalogue containing some information about the mummy of Nesperenub who was the centrepiece of the exhibition, other artefacts displayed alongside the mummy at the exhibition, along with some contextual information about the time period/Ancient Egypt.

Paperback exhibition catalogue for a British Museum-organised exhibition that toured at the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV International, Melbourne) between 14 June 2024 and 6 October 2024 as part of Melbourne Winter Masterpieces. Comprehensive catalogue of the 500 artefacts about the kingship of pharaohs' power and rule (kingship) in Ancient Egypt, along with contextual information and essays.

    • Note: "Museum Victoria" changed its name to "Museums Victoria" in 2016. Self-published paperback exhibition catalogue for a Melbourne Winter Masterpieces exhibition which toured at the Melbourne Museum between 26 June 2009 and 25 October 2009. It also toured at Te Papa (Wellington), according to the catalogue. It may have toured elsewhere as well, but I'm not bothered to do any additional Googling. It was organised by the Soprintendenza Speciale per i Beni Archeologici di Napoli e Pompei and with the catalogue overviewing the exhibition's 270 objects that were on display that reveal daily life in Pompeii. However, there is a notable lack of any information about the actual context regarding Pompeii's social structure nor its role as part of the Roman Empire.

    • Note: Self-published and concise paperback exhibition catalogue by the exhibition organiser (Austria) for an exhibition that toured at the Auckland War Memorial Museum between 15 June 2023 and 12 November 2023. It visited various North American museums prior to Auckland, according to Google. Very little amount of contextual information and not very in-depth exploration of possibly just a selection of the exhibition's 350 objects that were on display about daily life, religion, and the pharaoh in Ancient Egypt. The objects came from various smaller/less-well known museums in Europe.

    • Note: Self-published comprehensive paperback exhibition catalogue for an exhibition that toured at the National Museum of Australia (Canberra) between 16 December 2021 and 1 May 2022. It also toured at the Western Australian Museum (Perth) and Auckland War Memorial Museum, according to the catalogue. It may have toured elsewhere as well, but I'm not bothered to do any extra Googling. It was organised by the British Museum (London), with the catalogue containing a few essays and then it explores the exhibition's 170 objects that were on display about daily life, art, drama, politics, music, warfare, sport, etc in Ancient Greece, along with contextual information.

    • Note: Self-published comprehensive hardcover exhibition catalogue for an exhibition that toured at the National Museum of Australia (Canberra) between 14 December 2023 and 8 September 2024. It also toured at the Western Australian Museum (Perth), and will tour at the Queensland Museum (Brisbane) after Canberra, according to the catalogue and Google. It was organised by the Rijksmuseum van Oudheden (Leiden), with the catalogue containing a few essays and then it explores the exhibition's 220 objects that were on display about the pharaohs, daily life, religion, and funerary practices in Ancient Egypt, along with analysis of contemporary Egyptology and contextual information. There is also a softcover/paperback version, of which I don't have a copy of, however it appears to be the same as the hardcover (9781921953552).

    • Note: Self-published comprehensive paperback exhibition catalogue for an exhibition that toured at the National Museum of Australia (Canberra) between 21 September 2018 and 3 February 2019. It was organised by the British Museum (London), with the catalogue containing a few essays and then it explores the exhibition's 200 objects that were on display about how Rome became an empire (Roman Republic) and daily life, along with contextual information.

    • Note: Self-published paperback exhibition catalogue for a historical exhibition about Roman gladiator contests, amphitheatres, weapons and other related artefacts. It catalogues the various artefacts displayed, along with contextual information. It toured at the Queensland Museum (Brisbane) between 23 June 2017 and 28 January 2018 and was organised by Expona. The objects came from various museums throughout Italy.

A fairly comprehensive paperback guide to the Louvre (Paris), a brief history and its collections from 576 selected objects (Near Eastern antiquities, Egyptian antiquities, Greek/Etruscan/Roman department, Islamic art, sculptures, decorative arts, paintings, prints/drawings, Africa/Asia/Oceania/Americas arts). Note that the Louvre continues to directly sell this book, in addition to more recently published guide books, however they appear to be less comprehensive than this one; some of which are available for borrowing at the Internet Archive library: [1] [2] [3].

A small but concise paperback exhibition catalogue for an exhibition that toured at the Canadian Museum of History (Gatineau) between 5 April 2024 and 19 January 2025, along with contextual information. It was organised by The Field Museum (Chicago) with 700 artefacts about daily life and the emergence of kings between the Neolithic Age and the Iron Age coming from 26 museums throughout southeastern Europe. There is also a French version of the catalogue under the name "Premiers royaumes d'Europe".

    • Note: Self-published (by Museum Victoria; hence known as "Museums Victoria" since 2016) paperback exhibition catalogue for an exhibition that toured at the Melbourne Museum between 4 May 2012 and 7 October 2012. It was organised by the British Museum (London), with the catalogue overviewing the exhibition's 170 objects that were on display from the Sumerian, Assyrian, and Babylonian civilisations (Mesopotamia), through an exploration of the invention of cuneiform writing/record-keeping through tablets/stelas/reliefs/etc, funerary practices, kingship, religious beliefs/practices, remnants of the Epic of Gilgamesh / Enuma Elish, and the legacy of the sexagesimal (base 60) numeral system for modern timekeeping/measuring angles/coordinates, along with some contextual information.

    • Note: Self-published small souvenir booklet about the South Australian Museum (Adelaide) and selected objects from its collection from various galleries. It doesn't appear to have an ISBN.

    • Note: Published by Laboratoriorosso (Viterbo, Italy), with involvement with the exhibition organisers, including NEON Global and Larco Museum (where the artefacts came from). Comprehensive hardcover exhibition catalogue which accompanied my visit to its run at the Australian Museum (Sydney) between 23 November 2024 and 23 February 2025. There is also a much smaller and concise paperback version (9788894647822), which I don't have a copy of. It first toured at the Boca Raton Museum of Art, then at Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine (Paris), then at Museo delle culture (MUDEC) in Milan, before visiting Sydney. Contains a few essays and then it explores the exhibition's 130 objects that were on display about pre-Columbian civilisations in the Andean region, including royalty, human sacrifice, sexuality, religion (especially through the myth of Ai Apaec), along with a lot of contextual information.

    • Note: Self-published by the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) for an exhibition that toured at NGV International (Melbourne) between 24 May 2019 and 13 October 2019. Of note, it appears that this exhibition also has a separate catalogue published for its separate run at Te Papa (Wellington) with the ISBN of 9780995103115. The exhibition's 160 displayed objects came from around 20 museums in China's Shaanxi province. The catalogue is an in-depth overview of the exhibition's objects that were on display about Qin Shi Huang, his Terracotta Army, and the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor, along with contextual information.
