I recently made a post but I am in no way advertising or do I know the person personally or professionally. How do I stop wiki from deleting the page? Botmra (talk) 14:34, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
I saw that page, and have been looking at the article and at the sources you cite. Right now, there isn't a clear statement of what makes this person a notable musician. Just having worked with notable people isn't sufficient; notability is not contagious. Has he won any significant awards? Has any of his songs made national charts, or been placed in rotation by a major radio network? Check out the list at WP:MUSIC for the criteria. There's also a need for better sources - right now, there's only one source, the Gutta World interview, that would meet Wikipedia's reliable standards guidelines, and that doesn't seem to discuss anything that would support a claim for notability. I didn't delete the article or remove the tag, but you're right that someone else might. Don't panic- if the article is deleted while you're working, it can easily be undeleted at deletion review if you can explain the artist's notability and cite the necessary sources. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 14:42, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
I've removed the "unambiguously promotional" tag because I don't think the article in its current from meets that speedy deletion criterion, but I did note concerns about notability and sourcing on the talk page. -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 14:44, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
Botmra (talk) 19:02, 4 February 2013 (UTC)Thank you for responding. I would like to know what is the difference between Gutta World Interview and KevinNottingham.com? Both are from accredited hip-hop websites. Also, including itunes links are considered promotional sources, correct? I just need clarification before editing. Thanks again.
Look for yourself at the KevinNottingham link; there's nothing there. Yes, iTunes would be promotional, and also wouldn't provide any useful information I can think of. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 19:13, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
The URL is wrong - it should be this (with a "/" on the end, not a "|") - I've fixed it. -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 19:29, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Dispatch News Service, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Richard Hughes and Sean Flynn (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
