Open Access in Niger; Researchers from Niger publish articles in international Open Access journals, for example, in 2013,  25 articles have been published with BioMed Central – an STM (Science, Technology and Medicine) publisher which has pioneered the Open Access publishing model – and among them there are highly accessed articles by researchers from Centre de recherche médicale et sanitaire (CERMES), National Hospital of Niamey, Réseau International Schistosomoses Environnement Amenagements et Lutte (RISEAL-Niger), and UNICEF.

38 articles have been published in Public Library of Science (PLoS) Open Access journals: PLoS ONE, PLoS Medicine and PLoS Neglected Tropical Diseases by researchers from Institut de Recherche pour le Développement, International Center of Research for the Semi-Arid Tropics, Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique du Niger, Centre de Coopération Internationale en Recherche Agronomique pour le Développement, Centre Régional AGHRYMET, Université Abdou Moumouni, Department of Animal Health and Livestock Promotion, ONG Karkara, University of Niamey, Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, Hôpital national de Niame, Solthis, Belgian Technical Cooperation, Réseau International des Institut Pasteur, Direction des Laboratoires Vétérinaires, and Ministry of Health.
