FARHAT ABBAS

Farhat Abbas is an IPS Officer from West Bengal cadre.He started his career in the Police Department as a Dy.S.P IN 1998 as a trainee at the Police Training College,Barrackpore,West Bengal.Over the years,he held several posts in the West Bengal Police as SDPO Arambagh in Hooghly and as SDPO Rampurhat in Birbhum as well as DSP hqrs in Cooch Behar and DSP(Traffic)Siliguri.He also worked as Addl SP Birbhum and Addl SP Hqrs.Darjeeling.In 2012,he was promoted to the Indian Police Service and was posted as Commandant EFR 3rd Bn.Salua where he worked for over three years.At present he is posted as Commandant SAP 3rd Bn,Barrackpore.He has interest in photography and creative writing as well as lawn tennis.
