Ye family

[edit]
  • Ye Zhetai (叶哲泰) – physicist, professor at Tsinghua University, killed during a struggle session in the Cultural Revolution
  • Shao Lin (绍琳) – physicist, Ye Zhetai's wife
  • Ye Wenjie (叶文洁)
  • astrophysicist, daughter of Ye Zhetai, first person to establish contact with the Trisolarans, later spiritual leader of ETO
  • Professor of Astrophysics, Department of Physics, Tsinghua University, retired in 2004. Yang Dong's mother.
  • The real identity is the mastermind behind Trisomal.
  • Born in June 1947, graduate student in astrophysics. His father, Ye Zhetai, and mother, Shao Lin, were physics professors at Tsinghua University. They had a sister, Ye Wenxue (who died in a Cultural Revolution fight). In 1967, she saw her father beaten to death by Red Guards during the Cultural Revolution. After being sent to work in the Greater Khingan Mountains, because of the reading of "Silent Spring" and the production and construction Corps "Large production newspaper" reporter Bai Mu Lin framed, but because of its professional background and can avoid punishment, and with Yang Weining and Lei Zhicheng under the mediation into the "red Bank base".
  • At the Red Bank base, Ye Wenjie learns that there is a top secret project to find alien civilization. In 1971, she accidentally discovered the sun's ability to gain reflection of radio waves, so she sent a signal through the sun into outer space. The signal was intercepted by Trisaran Civilization and a reply was sent warning Earthling not to reply in case the Trisaran found it. The reply reached Earth in 1979 and was picked up again by Ye Wenjie. At this time to the human already feeling of despair, she is eager to alien advanced civilization to replace the human, so regardless of the warning to send signals to the Trisaran civilization. This led to the Trisaran civilization locating Earth and sending its colonial fleet to Earth.
  • She married Yang Weining shortly after she sent her first signal into outer space, got pregnant and gave birth to a daughter, Yang Dong, after receiving a reply. However, the reply of the three-body civilization was Lei Zhicheng that in order to keep the secret, she decided to kill Lei Zhicheng secretly, in order not to miss the best opportunity to kill Lei Zhicheng, and even killed his husband. Two years later, he left the Red Bank base and returned to Tsinghua University to teach. He later became the head of Trisomal (actually the spiritual leader, who does not deal with specific matters)
  • Captured during an operation to wipe out Trisaran headquarters. He died at the Red Bank Base site
  • Ye Wenxue (叶文雪) – Ye Wenjie's younger sister, a Tsinghua High School student and a zealous Red Guard, killed during factional violence

Red Coast Base

[edit]
  • Lei Zhicheng (雷志成) – political commissar at Red Coast Base, who recruited Wenjie, later murdered by Ye
  • Yang Weining (杨卫宁) – chief engineer at Red Coast Base, once a student of Ye Zhetai, later Ye Wenjie's husband, murdered by Ye

The present

[edit]
  • Wang Miao (汪淼)
  • nanomaterials researcher, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences
  • In 2007, there was a spate of suicides by scientists in a short period of time, all of whom had links to a group called Science Boundaries and were invited to help investigate. He's been involved in a series of unusual encounters ever since.
  • One day in photography witnessed the "ghost countdown" that can not be explained by science, he was confused by the visit through the "boundary of science" organization to know the physicist, also engaged in nanomatous materials research Shen Yufei, and through Shen Yufei that the network sense game "three-body" existence. Wang Miao entered the three-body game, and through repeated attempts, finally beat the game, and got the qualification of the three-body organization party on Earth. And then I found out about the leadership of Trisolaran.
  • After learning some information about Trisaran civilization from the commander, he and police officer Shi Qiang used nanomaterials to destroy the Trisaran Organization's base camp, the Judgment Day ship, in the Panama Canal "Operation Guzheng".
  • Yang Dong (杨冬) – string theorist and daughter of Ye Wenjie and Yang Weining, later committed suicide
  • Ding Yi (丁仪) – theoretical physicist, Yang Dong's boyfriend
  • Shi Qiang (史强)
  • police detective and counter-terrorism specialist, nicknamed "Da Shi" (大史), ("Big Shi")
  • He's an army veteran who fought in the Vietnam-China War. Police and terrorism experts. Rude but bold and eclectic. Maj. Gen. Chang Weisi borrowed the Earth defense security Department to participate in Chang Weisi chaired the cross-military police two circles, members of the CIA and others to attend the meeting, and Wang Miao, Ding Yi together to investigate the case of suicide scientists.
  • During the operation to destroy the Trisaran headquarters to arrest its commander, but in the process of excessive radiation, later developed leukemia.
  • Later, he proposed the idea of "Operation Guzheng" in the conference, and eventually destroyed the "Judgment Day" in the Panama Canal, helping to obtain the contents of the communication between Trisaran civilization and Trisaran Earth. After the treatment of leukemia hibernation, waiting for the emergence of new treatment technology.
  • Chang Weisi (常伟思) – major-general of the People’s Liberation Army
  • Shen Yufei (申玉菲) – Chinese-Japanese physicist and member of the Frontiers of Science
  • Wei Cheng (魏成) – math prodigy and recluse, Shen Yufei's husband
  • Pan Han (潘寒) – biologist, friend/acquaintance of Shen Yufei and Wei Cheng, and member of the Frontiers of Science
  • Sha Ruishan (沙瑞山) – astronomer, one of Ye Wenjie's students
  • Mike Evans (麦克·伊文斯) – son of an oil magnate, main source of funding of the ETO
  • Colonel Stanton (斯坦顿) – officer of U.S. Marine Corps, commander of Operation Guzheng

The second version: The dark forest

[edit]

The first Face to the Wall attempted to build a strong and determined Earth Air Force. But his real idea is not to use the space force to fight the Trisolaran invaders, but to destroy the Earth's space fleet with the extremely high energy of macro atom fusion. In this way, the fleet becomes a ghost fleet of macroscopic quantum states. These dead ghosts cannot die a second time, so let the ghost army fight the Trisolaran invaders. But his strategy was discovered by the Trisolarans! The Trisolarans don't care about quantum ghosts at all.

The second man tried to deflect Mercury's orbit with a powerful hydrogen bomb, causing it to fall into the sun, and thus causing an eruption of material inside the sun. These eruptions would eventually pull Venus, Earth, and Mars into the sun, further destroying the entire solar system. Such a move would, of course, deprive the Trisolarans of their goal of aggression, but at the cost of the entire solar system and the human race. This tactic was also picked up by the Trisomalians.

The third face, who apparently imbues people with an indomitable mental imprint, is actually a defeatist who simply does not believe that humans can defeat Trisomy.

By the time the Trisolaran outpost, a small, droplet spacecraft, arrived in the solar system, humanity had built a thousand giant star warships. Humans sent a thousand space fleet, mighty mighty to the Trisolaran water droplets to show their powerful power! As a result, the water droplet completely destroyed the vast fleet of human beings on Earth by simply relying on its unusually hard shell and using the original method of impact! Infighting broke out among the few ships that made it out, and only two escaped into deep space, preserving a little of the spark of human life.

When the human world was in great despair, the fourth man, named Luo Ji, discovered the jungle rules of cosmic society, that is, the dark forest rules. Like in a dark forest, there are a lot of hunters walking with guns. If someone gives away his position, the best strategy for the other hunter is not to probe, but to shoot him, whatever he is, and kill him first. So protecting your galaxy's coordinates is a major strategy to avoid the dark forest.

Luo Ji placed many nuclear bombs in the outer solar system, people thought he was using them to defend against the trisoman invaders. Only after he sets up all his nukes, does he communicate with the Trisolarans. He tells the Trisolarans that when these bombs explode, they will display a map of the coordinates of the Trisolaran and solar systems in the universe. Luo Ji's deterrent horse. On the effect. The Trisolarans immediately agreed to give up the invasion of the Earth, but also promised to help the Earth's rapid progress in science and technology. The fourth wall face Luo Ji finally saved the solar system.

The thrid version: Death's End

[edit]

The third volume: In the middle age, an entrance of the four dimensional space appeared on the earth for a short time and was discovered by a witch. At the time the capital of the Byzantine Empire, Constantinople, was under the furious attack of the Ottoman empire. The witch promised the last emperor of the empire to murder the leader of the Ottoman empire by the four dimentional space, but the entrance closed when she returned, and she was treated as a fraud and killed. The story comes back to the future, when human beings are facing the threat of the space fleet of Trisolaris. Humans decide to send a detector to the fleet and to choose a human brain to act as the detector, which would satisfy the load limitation. Many countries therefore carry out the mercy killing policy, including China, and Yun Tianming, a classmate of Cheng Xin, was finally selected as the person. Though the detector departures from its orbit, the fleet captures it by some means. In the more distant age, in the Deterrence Era, after people discovered they can coexist with Trisolaris by claiming broadcasting the position of planet Trisolaris and deterring the Trisolaris, one of the two vagrant human spaceships, Bronze Age, returned to the earth, and the crew are sentenced. Before the arrest a member of the Bronze Age sends the alarm message to the other spaceship, Blue Space, who flees from the earth after receiving the messages and is chased by Gravity and a Droplet from Trisolaris. During the long-lasting chase, Cheng Xin is selected as the Swordholder, while the Trisolaris, after analyzing and realize her indecision will prohibit her from broadcasting the position of planet Trisolaris, orders the Droplet to destroy the both Blue Space and Gravity, antennas of which are the crucial of broadcasting. While it doesn’t take long for Trisolaris to occupy the earth, the crew on Blue Space find another entrance of the four dimensional space, use it to destroy the droplet, and persuade the crew on Gravity to broadcast the position of planet Trisolaris. Cheng xin, after the long separation of hundreds of years, met Yun Tianming again, who has lived in Trisolaris society for a long time. Through the three fairy tales he tells, humans unscramble the technology of traveling with the speed of light. Humans observe that the higher civilizations generally destroy other solar systems through “rice grain”, and decide to build fortresses on planets in the solar system to contend against the attack. The attack, however, exceeds the expectation and turns the whole solar system into a two-dimensional picture, only Cheng Xin flees from the disaster by the only spaceship faster than light. She goes to a microcosm to avoid the dangers in macrocosm and receives a message from Returners, who informs her of the severe run off of the materials in the macrocosm and decides to solve the problem. In the end she decides to return most of the materials of microcosm to macrocosm but leave an ecological sphere.[1]
