Clementina Rotondi (28 March 1920 Monteleone di Spoleto – 12 November 1991 Florence) was, at the time, working at the National Union Catalog Center

Graduated in literature from the University of Florence, with a thesis on a Tuscan newspaper of the Risorgimento discussed with Carlo Morandi, she also obtained the diploma of paleographer archivist from the State Archives.

• March 1, 1951: Began working at the National Central Library of Florence, as a fellow of the National Center for the single catalog.

She entered the roles of state libraries from March 28, 1962, as a librarian; from March 1966 she passed into the managerial career (from 1969 as principal librarian), again at the National University of Florence, where she curated the periodicals section.

She became a manager in 1979, since that year she has directed the University Library of Bologna and

From 1980 until her retirment April 1, 1985, Rotondi was director of the Marucelliana Library in Florence.

She has been a member of the Italian Libraries Association since 1954, she was elected to the Regional Committee of the Tuscany Section in 1956 (resigning in 1958) and again in 1967; after the resignation of the Committee (1968), she was re-elected again for the three-year period 1969-1972, holding the position of secretary. She was also part of the Working Group on Periodicals in the 1970s and of the Italian delegation to the IFLA General Conference in 1970, 1972 and 1977.

Among his most important works, published in the "Italian Bibliography Library" of the Olschki publisher, are the Bibliography of Tuscan periodicals from 1847 to 1871 (3 vol., 1952-1972) and the Leopardian analytical bibliography for the period 1961-1970 (1973, in collaboration with Alessandro Tortoreto). For the magazine «La biblioofilia» she edited the News column from 1969 to 1988, reviewing above all catalogs and bibliographies, and she compiled the cumulative index 1949-1978; she also collaborated with "Academies and libraries of Italy", the AIB "Information Bulletin", the "Italian Historical Archive" (of which she edited the 1942-1967 index with Giulia Camerani Marri), the " Nuova Antologia »and other bibliographic and historical periodicals. She dedicated various contributions to the history of Florentine libraries, especially the Marucelliana and the Nazionale, and she compiled the retrospective indexes of the review "Il Marzocco" (Florence: Olschki, 1980). She was also a full member of the Tuscan Deputation of Homeland History and since 1955 she was a member of the Governing Council of the Tuscan Society for the History of the Risorgimento, of which she too was secretary and director of the "Tuscan Historical Review" from 1974 until her death.
