Birth

H. Kenyon Hopkins was born January 15, 1912, in Coffeyville, Kansas, to the marriage of Rev. Thomas John Hopkins (1871–1939) and Gertrude Conover Nevius (maiden; 1883–aft. July 6, 1967).

Rev. Hopkins (D.D., PhD, and S.T.D.) was pastor of:

ordained August 13, 1899, in Louisburg, Kansas
began his college studies at William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri, then transferred to Ottawa University in Ottawa, Kansas, where he received a Bachelor of Philosophy (in cursu honorum) June 10, 1903. In September 1903, he began studies at Crozer Theological Seminary in Chester, Pennsylvania, and received a diploma June 6, 1907.
  • Delaware Avenue Baptist Church in Wilmington, the largest Baptist church in Delaware from 1906 to 1909
  • the First Baptist Church in Coffeyville from 1909 to 1918, then
  • the First Baptist Church in Adrian, Michigan, from 1918 to 1923, then
  • the Tenth Avenue Baptist Church in Columbus, Ohio, from 1923 to 1928
  • the Central Baptist Church in Wayne, Pennsylvania, from 1928 to 1936
  • the Prospect Hill Baptist Church in Prospect Park, Pennsylvania, from 1936 until his death in 1939.

Marriages

Hopkins was married at least three times.[1]

  • Hopkins first in 1936 married a vocalist known as Ramona (né Estrild Raymona Myers; 1909–1972). They Divorced around June 1943, reportedly in Mexico.
