Although Parker did not attend an Oxford college as a Rhodes Scholar, he later served on Rhodes Scholar selection committees, including 1953, 1954, 1962, 1965 (Wyoming committee), and 1966, when he was a member of the Northwest District Committee with J. Earll Miller (1889–1970), professor emeritus of the University of Montana (retired in 1961).[6]
