In china, assisted suicide is illegal under Articles 232 and 233 of the Criminal Law of the People's Republic of China. [1]

An article in People's Daily reported that "Nine people from Xi'an City in China made news when they 'jointly wrote to local media asking for euthanasia, or mercy killings'".[84] These people had uremia, a disease due to the failure of the kidneys, and expressed their "unbearable suffering and [an unwillingness] to burden their families any more".[85] In China, suicide is considered homicide and if you are caught assisting someone in suicide you may end up in prison for at least two years. [2]. Zhong’s case did not open up a door to even consider assisted suicide to become legal, it then became a bigger crime to commit and if one intentionally commits homicide or neglect on another the imprisonment sentence is now three to seven years.

4.2 India

India legalized euthanasia on March 7, 2011. The supreme court of India passed this law based upon the past history that India has had dealing with assisted suicide. [2]
